NEW BRAND ALERT: 5 Little Bears

We are very proud to be stocking a beautiful locally made brand called "5 Little Bears". Made right here in Newcastle using sustainable wood, they have created a high quality range of educational toys based on a number of themes, including Australian flora and fauna. 

The brand owner, Leanne Murner saw a gap in the market for Australian themed toys and educational products , so she focused on creating puzzles, games and sensory activities for children. 

Products like the 32pc Dinosaur Puzzle have high quality images printed on wooden tiles along with the dinosaurs name. A great tool for developing fine motor skills. Matching, sorting and identifying visual memory patterns help children to nurture their attention to detail, help their cognitive skills and develop their critical thinking skills - all while learning about something fun like dinosaurs!

 This set of 8 Bug Tiles can be a great educational tool to learn about creepy crawlies. They would work great with a light box due to the detailed designs printed on the perspex. Or even to take outside and to imagine each insect in their natural habitat. The kids can go on a bug hunt and see if they can find any real life bugs to match their tiles.

The 5pc Dinosaur Stamps are a great accessory for some creative playtime with home made playdough or kinetic sand. Kids can create their own impressions of their favourite dinos and imagine them as fossils in the earth. Or for a little archaeologist, you could set up a playtime activity with some clay - stamp some dinosaurs in the clay, surrounded by small rocks and other pieces of wildlife, cover in sand and give your little one a paint brush and encourage them to find their own fossils.

The best ever homemade no cook play dough recipe:

• 1.5 cups plain flour
• 1/2 cup of salt
• 1 tbs of oil
• 2 tbs cream of tartar
• Your choice of food colouring
• 1 cup of boiling water

Mix all ingredients in bowl (besides boiling water and food colouring), mix food colouring in boiling water, then carefully add boiling water to bowl. Stir well and roll out onto a flat surface and get yourself ready for some playdough fun!
